Easy Apple Dumplings

1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Prepare Apples:
Cut each apple into 8 slices. You should have 16 apple slices total.

3. Wrap Apples:
-Heat a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat to melt the butter.. Place an apple slice at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up, completely enclosing the apple. Place each rolled apple dumpling in the prepared baking dish.

4. Make the Sauce:
When the sugar is completely dissolved, add the vanilla essence and mix. Transfer this blend onto the apple dumplings.

5. Add Soda:
Pour the Mountain Dew (or lemon-lime soda) around the edges of the baking dish, not directly over the dumplings.

6. Add Cinnamon:
Sprinkle the ground cinnamon evenly over the top of the dumplings.

7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the apples are tender.

8. Serve:
– Warm apple dumplings should be served with a dab of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
